Typical "Discount" Negotiaton

For our Tax and Business Strategy subject, we are required to buy 2014 Budget Commentary & Tax Information. The order form can be download from  http://www.mia.org.my/new/members_publication_order.asp

I was quite unsure with the payment. Thus, I decided to make a call for clearification.

R= Receptionist

Me: Good evening, I would like to buy the 2014 Budget Commentary & Tax Information.
R : Yes, you can download the form from our website.
Me: I was quite unclear on the payment.
R: The payment can only made through cheque.
Me: Aiya, can not online bank transfer
R: Can not lah miss
Me: Since I buy 7 bookd can gove discount on postage? (cheeky voice)
R: hahah awak ni... can not lah
Me: hehehe I though i can use my student id card to buy at cheaper price mah.
R: ooh you are a student
Me: yup our Tax class used the book as text book.
R: ooohhh may be you can save it by collecting from the branch
Me: heheh tak boleh lah, no transportation. Never mind thanks a lot.


I just can't help it. I not sure why I just can't help it to ask for discount. Country on tight budget, I on tight budget too. May be that the reason, I will always ask for discount. ^^
